Rameau.

For players who got stuck

From the chords you know to the sound in your head.

Rameau is a place to play along with a band, see exactly what you showed, and keep going until you can sit in at a jam. Free to start, in your browser, on a laptop or a phone.

One loop. You, the band, the truth.

  1. 1

    Say who you are

A sentence is enough: what you play, how long you have, what you want. Rameau reads it and picks a first step. No account.

  2. 2

    Play a round

Pick a song. A band holds the beat and plays the chords. You play them on the beat, on pads, your typing keys, the touchscreen, or a MIDI keyboard.

  3. 3

    See what you showed

One honest line about your timing and your chords, and a read on how close you are to sitting in. Then the next, slightly harder version.

What's inside today.

Play

Rounds with a band, from two chords up to the whole song, with a timing meter that shows how you sit against the beat.

Keys

A keyboard on the screen that names the chord you are holding, so what you play and what it is called connect.

Ready

A plain read on whether you can jam yet, with a range and what it assumes, never a fake score.

Bridge

Type a progression, see the chords colored by what they do, and hear it.

This is an early version. The band's drums are real recordings; its keys and bass are synthesized for now. Finding people to jam with in person is where we are heading, and it isn't built yet.

Yours stays yours.

Your audio never leaves your device. Your progress is kept in your browser, not on our servers, and there is no account to make. Read the details in the privacy page.
